DMX Medical Identity Theft and Arrest Warrants

December 7th, 2008 Keith Lubsen

DMX (a.k.a Earl Simmons) failed to appear last Friday morning at a court hearing in Maricopa County, Arizona, for the second time. As a result, a bench warrant for his arrest was issued.  DMX is charged with medical identity theft (i.e., providing someone else’s identity to avoid paying for medical services), animal abuse (17 malnourished and 3 dead dogs found in his home near Phoenix) and drug and drug paraphernalia charges.

DMX allegedly provided a false name and social security number to avoid paying for a $7,500 hospital charges for services he received.

Granted, DMX’s claim to fame is not for being a law abiding citizen but, being as famous as he is in the music industry, it would seem wise not to impersonate someone else in order commit medical identity theft.
